Black Boy Themes

1) Richard was ignored by his mother which caused him to be independent and resent authority figures.

-When Richard was asked to go to the grocery store and is mother gave him a note, he was beat up by kids and was robbed. When he came back his mother told him not to come back until he got the groceries in which he resented his mother for that and was able to fight for himself.

-This connects to ignorance because Richard was ignored and got stronger because of it.

2) Richard was isolated from the truth which caused him to question and become depressed.

-When Richard was asking about the boat that they would be staying on, his mother told him that it would great and lied about it so he became depressed.

My most vivid Childhood memory

I was three years old I was beginning my first year of Pre-school at St.Augustine Catholic school in the lower part of the Hudson River. All I can remember was my brother came with me and as I was walking in the building he pushed me down and ruined my first day of Pre-School.

Shoah

I think that his story was definitely more about death because he said not how he survived but rather how he said "people were burned here and the flames reached to the sky"

night micro labs

The significance of the book was that he survived to live as an example of how terrible  I think that ends it so abruptly because after the camps there was not much to tell.

Nobel prize blog post

Wiesel's message was that he is thankful and blessed that he survived and that he thought it was insane that people of the 20th century would do something so terrible. Over all he was saying that history and peoples lives were lost during the holocaust and he was lucky to get out alive.

Horror

A connection is that in the book and the speech he was saying that his family was saved and others weren't.

Wiesel "deposition"

What I think that he means is that in the night he is allowed to think and not have to worry about the stress that life produces. He is removed from society and is allowed to be free.

Pitch paper feed back

1) I will improve on tying up my statements, by going to the writing center to ask for advice.
2) I need to improve on making my evidence more extensive, I will do this by doing more research.
3) I will need to improve on clarity of the intro, I will do this by making it more in depth.
4) I will need to fix all grammatical errors throughout the essay, I will do this by going to the Writers Block.
